  1. The cockroach or roach is a nocturnal 
  2. flat-bodied oval INSECT. Cockroaches have
  3. long antennae, long legs adapted for running,
  4. and a flat extension of the upper body that
  5. covers the head, some species of cockroach 
  6. can fly. They range in size from ¼in to 3in
  7. (½cm-7½cm). Cockroaches are not known to be
  8. desease carriers. They were extremely 
  9. abundant about 150 million years ago, and 
  10. were possibly the first flying animal.
